Householders and drivers in Duntocher are being warned to expect a short spell of disruption as Scottish Water carries out essential maintenance on Antonine Gate.

\nScottish Water has given an estimated completion time of 4.30pm, meaning the bulk of the job should be done within the working day rather than stretching into the evening rush.

\nIn an alert to customers, Scottish Water said: "Customers in the G81 Duntocher area: We are carrying out essential maintenance which may cause loss of supply for some customers."
\nBecause the job is expected to be a short one, the company says it does not anticipate laying on bottled water — a step it usually takes when outages stretch beyond a few hours or affect vulnerable customers.
\nSupply will return gradually once the repair is finished. Householders may notice cloudy or discoloured water for a short time as air works its way out of the pipes; running the cold kitchen tap slowly for a few minutes usually clears it.

\nAntonine Gate is a residential street off Dumbarton Road, and any lane closures or temporary lights tend to push traffic onto neighbouring routes through Duntocher and Hardgate. Drivers heading for the A810 or up towards Faifley may want to leave a few extra minutes, particularly around the school run.
