Peter Kay doesn't do things by halves. Now in its fourth year, his Better Late Than Never tour has become the most successful stand-up run in British comedy history — and on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 April, he brings it back to Glasgow's OVO Hydro for two nights that promise to be among the most joyful events the venue hosts all year.
A tour like no other
The numbers are staggering. Kay's 2024 dates alone grossed £27 million, according to Pollstar — eclipsing the touring revenues of Billie Eilish, Robbie Williams and Lady Gaga. He has completed over 100 shows at Manchester's AO Arena, smashing all attendance records, and became the first artist in the world to hold a monthly residency at London's O2, where he has played more than 45 nights.
And he's not done yet. In November 2025, Kay announced a final run of arena shows across the UK — with all profits going to 12 leading cancer charities, including Teenage Cancer Trust, Prostate Cancer UK, Blood Cancer UK and The Brain Tumour Charity.
"It's been the greatest privilege of my life to perform for audiences up and down the country," Kay said. "Every single penny of profit from these final shows will go to help fight cancer and support those affected. Come out, have a great night, share a few laughs, and do something good for charity at the same time."
Glasgow loves Peter Kay
Kay has a long history with the Scottish Event Campus, stretching back to his first SEC appearance in 2010. His 2023 Hydro dates sold out within minutes. Debbie McWilliams, chief commercial officer at the SEC, called the April shows "a run of fantastic shows" and said Scottish fans would be "delighted" to see him return.
No support act has been announced — Kay takes the stage at 8pm prompt and performs until around 10:30pm with an interval. The venue asks that audiences are seated in plenty of time and resist the urge to film the performance.

Getting there
The Hydro sits just off the M8 at junction 19. The multi-storey car park at Stobcross Road (G3 8GS) is the nearest option, but note the 2m height restriction and Glasgow's Low Emission Zone if you're driving through the city centre. There's also a free drop-off/pick-up zone at the west of the SEC Centre with a 30-minute stay. Trains, buses and taxis all serve the venue well — and the SEC's own accessible shuttle, affectionately known as "Gus the Bus," runs on event nights.
Don't miss it
This is Peter Kay at the peak of his powers, playing what he says will be his final arena run — and doing it all for charity. Two nights of guaranteed laughter in one of Scotland's finest venues. If you've been waiting for the right moment, this is it.
