Mickey, Minnie and some of Disney's most beloved characters have hit the ice in Glasgow. Disney on Ice presents "Into the Magic" is at the OVO Hydro now, running through Sunday 22 March — making it a perfect school-holiday treat for families across the central belt.

What's the show about?

"Into the Magic" is a world-class ice-skating spectacular hosted by Mickey and Minnie Mouse. The two-hour show (with interval) features scenes from five much-loved Disney films: Moana and Maui set off on their ocean adventure; Miguel from Coco follows the music in his heart; Rapunzel and Flynn Rider from Tangled chase their dreams; Anna and Elsa bring the house down with Frozen favourites like Let It Go and Do You Want to Build a Snowman?; and Belle explores the Beast's enchanted castle.

Expect singalongs, dazzling costumes and plenty of jaw-dropping skating.

Session times

There are three shows each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday:

Friday 20 March: 10:30am, 2:30pm, 6:30pm
Saturday 21 March: 10:30am, 2:30pm, 6:30pm
Sunday 22 March: 10:30am, 2:30pm, 6:30pm

Doors open one hour before each show. Performances last roughly two hours including an interval.

Tickets and prices

Tickets are still available, priced from £20 to £70 (including admin fee), with a limit of 10 per person. There are no age restrictions, and under-2s sitting on a parent's lap don't need a ticket. Book at ovohydro.com.

Tips for taking wee ones

Wrap up warm. The arena is kept cooler than usual to maintain the ice rink — an extra layer or a hoodie is a good idea, even indoors.

Bring snacks. Small non-carbonated drinks and sealed food for children are permitted. Baby and toddler bottles and cups are fine too.

Costumes welcome — but for under-14s only, to avoid any mix-ups with the cast.

Arrive early. With multiple shows per day, the car park at Stobcross Road (G3 8GS) gets busy between performances. There's also a designated drop-off and pick-up zone at the west of the SEC Centre if you'd rather avoid parking altogether.

Tickets are digital — make sure you have the Ticketmaster app downloaded and your tickets ready on your phone before you arrive.

Make a day of it

The OVO Hydro sits right in the heart of the SEC campus on the Clyde, so you can easily turn the show into a full family day out. Glasgow Science Centre is just a short walk along the river at Pacific Quay — perfect for curious minds before or after the performance. There are also plenty of family-friendly cafés and restaurants in the area.

With the Easter holidays just around the corner, this is a brilliant excuse to get the family together for a bit of Disney magic on ice.
