Glasgow's Citizens Theatre has revealed the full cast for this year's festive family show, with Molly Geddes taking the title role in a brand-new Cinderella.

Written by Stuart Paterson and directed by Joanna Bowman, the production runs in the Main Theatre from 28 November to 31 December 2026. The theatre describes it as a fun twist on the much-loved fairytale, promising magic, mischief and family fun.

Meet the cast

Geddes is a Royal Conservatoire of Scotland graduate whose busy 2025 included Sally Reid's Water Colour and two Wonder Fools productions, Alright Sunshine and Tether. Her screen credits include The Bombing of Pan Am 103 and Dinosaur.

Claire Dargo, known to audiences as Gloria Bell in The Ridge and Karen Connolly in River City, plays Claudia, the scheming stepmother.

Her daughters, Claudine and Claudette, are played by Hannah Visocchi and Emma Mullen. Visocchi appears in the soon-to-be-released Netflix series The Undertow and will be familiar to Citz audiences from Moonset. Mullen is known for Shetland, for playing Sophie in Mamma Mia! in London's West End, and will appear as Millie McCraig in the upcoming Legacy of Spies.

Leandro Daniel plays the Prince, with Callum Geddes as Callum. Keith Macpherson, known for his work at Pitlochry Festival Theatre and his long association with the Citizens through several TAG productions, takes the dual role of King and Father.

Michael Dylan, whose recent stage credits include Fish at A Play, A Pie and A Pint and James Brining's The Seagull, plays Sergeant Puff. Understudies Mhairi Watt and Angus Bhattacharya, both recent Royal Conservatoire of Scotland graduates, complete the company.

The story

It is nearly time for the Prince's ball, but Cinderella is working her fingers to the bone in the cold, dark kitchens thanks to her cruel and greedy stepsisters. New friends and a little magic may get her there, though the theatre hints at a twist: could her heart's true desire lie closer to home?

Director's view

Bowman said: "We're making a Citz Christmas show packed with joy, delight and music, with a heavy dose of spectacle and surprise. I am overjoyed with the ensemble we have assembled for this production, a group of performers who bring energy, talent and playfulness to the stage, alongside a wonderfully imaginative and inventive creative team. There's magic, mischief and music galore, yet at the heart of the story is a young woman discovering what she really wants for herself. I am so looking forward to sharing Cinderella with audiences this festive season."

She is joined by designer Jess Worrall, composer John Patrick Elliot, lighting designer Lizzie Powell, sound designer Ben Morgan, choreographer and movement director Jack Webb, and clown director and magician Tim Licata.

Following an award winner

Cinderella follows the Citizens' 2025 production of Beauty and the Beast, which won the CATS Award for Best Show for Children & Young People earlier this year and is nominated in the same category at the UK Theatre Awards.
