If you fancy spending your Saturday night singing along to the Fab Four, there is a ready-made plan waiting on Sauchiehall Street. Beatles Complete, a Liverpool tribute band with more than 300 Cavern Club shows behind them, play The Garage tonight, Saturday 3 October.
The band come with a serious Merseyside pedigree. According to the What's On Glasgow listing, the Liverpool-based "beat combo" are the youngest ever Beatles band to gain a residency at the Cavern Club, where they still perform on Thursdays.
The members are all in their early 20s. The listing says that makes them "the closest thing you will get to the unbridled joy of seeing the young Beatles when they first lit up the world".
The billing is cheerfully honest about the limits of time travel. "They can't promise all the screaming and tears from the 60's," it says, but it does promise "a host of classic songs brilliantly performed".
A band on the rise
Beatles Complete have performed at International Beatle Week for the last five years running, the listing says, and have been invited to return again next year.
They are also taking their extended show to theatres across the UK, and have appeared on the BBC and on television in Japan and the Netherlands.
The listing puts their growing reputation down to "musical prowess, boundless energy and easy Liverpool wit", which sounds like a good recipe for a Glasgow Saturday night.

Why go
This is a chance to hear the Beatles songbook played by a young band who, by the listing's account, perform at the Cavern Club every week. Lifelong fans and newcomers who know the songs from their parents' record collections should both find plenty to sing along to.
As the listing puts it: "The Beatles were a phenomena in musical history, Beatles Complete remind you why."
